The separation of powers is how the government is separated into 3 branches. The Legislative Branch, Judicial Branch, and Executive branch. The Legislative Branch was the congress, the Judicial Branch was the courts, and the Executive branch was the president. In the Legislative the Congress can approve nominations, control budget, and override and impeach the President. The Executive branch can veto legislation. The Judicial branch can declare laws and acts unconstitutional.
